Evangelist David Cloud Is A Lying False Prophet

1st Corinthians 15:1-4, “Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain. For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:” Romans 1:16, “For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.

Longtime missionary to India, Evangelist David C. Cloud is a corrupt and dangerous man doctrinally, responsible for sending thousands of people to Hell with his false gospel. The inspired Word of God very plainly defines “
THE GOSPEL by which we are saved, those who BELIEVE IT! The Gospel is the GOOD NEWS of Christ's death on the cross to pay for our sins, His burial and His miraculous bodily resurrection three days later from the dead.

In a 2012 (updated in 2019) article on his website, titled: Repentance In Evangelism,” David Cloud heretical starts off his article with this untrue statement:
“Repentance is often a missing element in evangelism today, but it is a prominent theme in the Bible. Following are the answers to some important questions about repentance.” ~Evangelist David Cloud, “Repentance In Evangelism
First off, although repentance is a prominent theme in the Bible, it is NOT a prominent theme in salvation. Evidence of this is that not once does the entire Gospel of John mention the word “repent.” Not once! This is because the man who BELIEVES the Gospel has also repented. Repentance and faith are not two separate actions, even though they are two separate things theologically. The word “repent” in the Bible concerning salvation always is either the Greek noun, metanoia, which means: “a change of mind”; or it is the Greek verb, metanoeo, which means: “to think differently.

Repent in the Bible concerning salvation NEVER means to forsake or turn away from your sins, because that would constitute works. Nor does repentance mean to be willing to turn from sins. Not one verse in the inspired King James Bible (beware of the corrupt modern perversions of the Bible) says to repent “of your sins” to be saved. Ungodly false prophets added those unbiblical words to God's simple plan of salvation (Proverbs 30:5-6). As I just plainly showed you from 1st Corinthians 15:1-4, the Apostle Paul in his defining of the Gospel, never mentions turning away from your sins, nor surrendering your life to Christ as Lord, as David Cloud wickedly teaches (which I will show you in a moment).

Pastor Cloud is wrong on repentance and; therefore, wrong on salvation. He is an infidel, an unsaved religious man, still hellbound in his sins. This explains why David Cloud cannot understand God's free grace, which is without works (Romans 4:4-7).

Cloud further falsely states:
“Many churches don’t preach repentance. They say that only faith is necessary for salvation. But repentance is commanded by God. It is mentioned 60 times in the New Testament.” ~Evangelist David Cloud, “Repentance In Evangelism
Neither does the Gospel of John preach repentance! John 20:31, “But these are written, that ye might believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God; and that believing ye might have life through his name. As you just read for yourself, the entire purpose for which God authored the Gospel of John is to show humanity how to get to Heaven. If forsaking one's sinful behavior, quitting the old sinful life, and surrender to Christ as supreme “Lord” to follow Him faithfully, were required to get to Heaven, then certainly John would have said so, but he doesn't! Neither did the Apostle Paul mention repentance in his definition of the Gospel, which Paul said in Romans 1:16 and 1st Corinthians 15:1-4 we are saved by, if we simply BELIEVE IT.

The truth is found in John 3:20-21, “For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved. But he that doeth truth cometh to the light, that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in God.” Carefully notice that the Bible does say: “he that turns from his sins cometh to the light”; but rather, it says: “he that doeth truth cometh to the light.” Repentance is a matter of acknowledging THE TRUTH that you are a guilty sinner, seeing your need for redemption, so that you will turn to the Savior in faith alone to be saved by God's grace.

This is something very different than committing yourself to give up your sinful ways, which NO ONE has ever done. Even the best of God's saints still sins continually (Romans 7:14-25). Sadly, David Cloud is woefully ignorant of the Holy Bible, because he is still unsaved and leans upon his own human understanding, instead of trusting upon the Lord (Proverbs 3:5-7).

If you still need more Biblical evidence to support the truth I just taught you, please read 2nd Timothy 2:25, “In meekness instructing those that oppose themselves; if God peradventure will give them repentance to the acknowledging of the truth; And that they may recover themselves out of the snare of the devil, who are taken captive by him at his will.” Again, we see here that repentance for salvation is NOT from sinning, but to acknowledge THE TRUTH — repentance to the acknowledging of the truth... Pastor Harry A. Ironside gets repentance 100% correct:
“It is the confession that one is utterly without merit, and if he is ever saved at all it can only be through the merits of our Lord Jesus Christ, 'who gave himself a ransom for all.' Here is firm footing for the soul who realizes that all self-effort is but sinking sand. Christ alone is the Rock of our salvation.” ~Pastor Harry A. Ironside; “Except Ye Repent,” p. 36)
Clearly, Dr. Ironside taught a free grace view of the Gospel. Pastor Ironside correctly recognized repentance as the confession that “one is utterly without merit” and that if one is “ever saved at all it can only be through the merits of our Lord Jesus Christ.” Salvation is without works of self-righteousness. Romans 4:5 plainly teaches that a man's faith is COUNTED for righteousness, i.e., the righteousness of Jesus Christ is imputed to one's heavenly record by faith. Salvation is not doing your best, it is having Christ's best put to your account through receiving Him by faith.

Pastor Ironside further eloquently states:
“Repentance is the recognition of my sinnership — the owning before God that I am as vile as He has declared me to be in His holy Word.” ~Pastor Harry A. Ironside; “Except Ye Repent,” chapter 3)
And also this helpful quote on Bible repentance from Pastor Ironside:
“The Gospel is not a call to repentance, or to amendment of our ways, to make restitution for past sins, or to promise to do better in the future. These things are proper in their place, but they do not constitute the Gospel; for the Gospel is not good advice to be obeyed, it is good news to be believed. Do not make the mistake then of thinking that the Gospel is a call to duty or a call to reformation, a call to better your condition, to behave yourself in a more perfect way than you have been doing in the past …

Nor is the Gospel a demand that you give up the world, that you give up your sins, that you break off bad habits, and try to cultivate good ones. You may do all these things, and yet never believe the Gospel and consequently never be saved at all.” ~Pastor Harry A. Ironside, from the sermon: “What Is The Gospel?
I really love Pastor Ironside, who was saved at age 17 while listening to Pastor Dwight L. Moody (1837-1899) preach in Chicago. The church building was so packed that there was no more room to enter. So a teenaged lad named Harry Ironside climbed up along the ceiling rafters, and listened intently while looking down upon the meeting, and at the end Harry received Jesus Christ as his personal Savior by faith alone. Harry didn't repent to turn away from his sinful ways and commit his life to serve Christ to be saved; but rather, he repented (i.e., changed his mind) unto the Gospel itself, turning from unbelief to belief.

If repentance means “to turn away from your sinful ways, then that means you must start keeping the law (no more stealing, no more adultery, no more dishonoring your parents, no more covetousness, et cetera - Exodus 20:1-17). What saith the Scripture? Romans 3:19-20, “Now we know that what things soever the law saith, it saith to them who are under the law: that every mouth may be stopped, and all the world may become guilty before God. Therefore by the deeds of the law there shall no flesh be justified in his sight: for by the law is the knowledge of sin.” The primary purpose of God's Old Testament law is to show mankind that WE ARE SINNERS  for by the law is the knowledge of sin.”

Thus, God NEVER intended that someone should be required to try to keep the law (i.e., turn away from their sins) to be saved. The very suggestion is wickedness and a false gospel. If to “repent” means to forsake our sinful ways TO BE SAVED, but Jesus already paid for our sins by dying on the cross, then what are we repenting from? Salvation is not a reward for the righteous, it is a gift for the guilty! Turning away from sinful ways would be a work. Faith puts all of the merit where it belongs, on the object of our faith, Jesus and His work.

The true Gospel always points you to CHRIST; a false gospel always points to YOU.

We must stay true to the simplicity of the gospel!! Repentance regarding salvation is a change of mind from unbelief to belief!!! We must earnestly contend for the faith (Jude 1:3).

What About The Repentance Of John The Baptist?

David Cloud tries to uses John's repentance as evidence that we must turn from sins to be saved today. I would like now to quote Dr. John R. Rice, who perfectly explains the Baptism of John, showing that is was no different than BELIEIVNG on Jesus Christ to be saved, by faith alone:
There are those hyper-dispensationalists who think that John the Baptist preached a different Gospel from Christ when he commanded repentance (Matt. 3:2). But it is the same repentance Jesus commanded in Matthew 4:17, in Luke 13:3 and 5, and the same repentance that Paul preached in Athens that God “now commandeth all men every where to repent” (Acts 17:30 31). Repentance is not a different plan of salvation from having faith: it is part of the same plan of salvation. Or rather repentance is simply another way of describing or looking at the plan of salvation. One who turns from sin to God has done so by trusting in Jesus Christ. A change of mind toward sin is necessarily involved in saving faith.

Everyone who genuinely repented under the preaching of John the Baptist put his trust in the Saviour John the Baptist preached, and was regenerated. There is no such thing as being “a disciple of John the Baptist” in any honest sense without being a disciple of Jesus, that is, without trusting Christ for salvation. [emphasis added]

Oh dear friend, that is so beautiful. Please don't miss it! I have heard Missionary David W. Cloud and other false teachers, attempt to portray Dr. Rice as a proponent of Lordship Salvation, saying he taught that people must turn away from a lifestyle of sin to be saved. David Cloud even goes as far as to wickedly pitch Dr. John R. Rice (1895-1980) against his successor Pastor Curtis Hutson (1934-1995). I explain this issue in the preceding article link. Mr. Cloud claims that Curtis Hutson leaves off repentance, thus corrupting the Gospel. Nothing could be further from the truth.

So we see that Dr. Rice is correct, the man who trusts in Christ HAS also repented. It is unfortunate that Dr. Rice chose to use unbiblical terminology, because the Bible NEVER says: “turn from sins to be saved anywhere! No doubt Brother Rice heard other preachers using that junk theology and he adopted it, which is a major problem among nearly all preachers. Please remember, Dr. Rice is not our final authority, the inspired Word of God is!

Beware Of False Prophet David C. Cloud's Counterfeit Gospel

In the following quote from David Cloud, you will see how he subtly wrests THE TRUTH of God's Word into a lie, teaching that to be saved your life must change (sadly, this is the demonic garbage that is preached by Campus Church at Pensacola Christian College today):
Repentance is not a change of life. Repentance a change of mind about God and sin that results in a change of life. Many who “believe” or “pray the sinner’s prayer” have no intention to change or to allow God to take control of their lives. They are not interested in being a disciple of Christ. They want a ticket to heaven that keeps them out of hell, but they want to continue to live as they please. They want to “believe in Jesus,” but they have no interest in obeying Him. That is not biblical salvation. The sinner must be ready to turn from his false gods, including self-worship, in order to worship and serve the true God (“ye turned to God from idols,” 1 Thessalonians 1:9). ~Evangelist David Cloud, “Repentance In Evangelism
David Cloud is a LIAR!!! According to the preceding quote by Pastor Cloud, you cannot be saved unless you:
  1. have intent to change your life
  2. have intent to become a disciple of Christ
  3. allow God to take control of your life
  4. have intent to stop living in sin
  5. have intent to obey Jesus
NONE OF THAT is Biblical! Dear reader, I triple dog dare you to go back and read our text passage of Scripture from 1st Corinthians 15:1-4, and see if any of the things which Mr. Cloud requires for salvation are mentioned in Paul's Gospel. They are not! That means David Cloud is a liar, an infidel and a false prophet! What saith the Scripture? Proverbs 30:5-6, “Every word of God is pure: he is a shield unto them that put their trust in him. Add thou not unto his words, lest he reprove thee, and thou be found a liar.” David Cloud is a liar for adding words to God's Word.

Pastor Cloud in the article I have shared with you claims that Jesus, Paul and Peter all preached repentance. But THE TRUTH is that David Cloud is taking the words of all those men out of context. Nowhere in the Gospel of John does Jesus tell anyone to repent to be saved. What saith the Scripture? Matthew 21:32, “For John came unto you in the way of righteousness, and ye believed him not: but the publicans and the harlots believed him: and ye, when ye had seen it, repented not afterward, that ye might believe him.” Do you see that repentance leads to BELIEVING the Gospel? Jesus is rebuking the self-righteous Pharisees here. Jesus said the Pharisees didn't repent (change their mind) to believe when they heard John's preaching, but THE ADMITTED SINNERS DID!!! Carefully notice that Jesus said the harlots and tax cheats repented to BELIEVE. The Bible never says they turned away from their sinful ways.

David Cloud falsely claims in his horrible article that no believer in the New Testament didn't change:
First, we have plenty of examples of believer's who lived in horrible sin (Demas, Ananias and Sapphira, Peter, the harlots and publicans, the saved man and his girlfriend in 1st Corinthians 5:1-5, the saved man who received no rewards in 1st Corinthians 3:15, Mary Magdalene, et cetera).

Second, just because saints changed later on as a result of God's indwelling Holy Spirit sanctifying them (John 17:17), has absolutely NOTHING to do with the free gift of getting saved! David Cloud is foolishly front-loading the Gospel, making demands of lost sinners that only a mature believer would posses. Consequently, many people aren't getting saved because they think God requires them to forsake sinful bad habits to be saved, and that blood is all upon David Cloud's incompetent and wicked hands!!!
Pilgrim's Progress author John Bunyan said it best, I humbly think:
“If you do not put a difference between justification wrought by the man Christ without and sanctification wrought by the Spirit of Christ within, you are not able to divide the Word aright; but contrariwise, you corrupt the Word of God, and cast stumbling blocks before the people.” —John Bunyan (1628-1688)
David Cloud is guilty of corrupting the inspired Word of God, casting stumbling blocks before the people, damning their souls to an eternity in the Lake of Fire with his false gospel. Satan's greatest weapon is to con people into living the Christian life without ever being born-again.

Pastor Cloud is your typical confused and lying false teacher. In one breath he teaches that salvation is a gift, but in the next breath he insists that it will cost you your sins and your life. It simply cannot be both dear friend. Romans 11:6, “And if by grace, then is it no more of works: otherwise grace is no more grace. But if it be of works, then is it no more grace: otherwise work is no more work.” David Cloud is caught between grace and works, hellbound in his sincere misunderstanding of the light of the truth of the Gospel.

We Don't Hear Much About The “Gift” Of Eternal Life

Romans 5:15-18, “But not as the offence, so also is the free gift. For if through the offence of one many be dead, much more the grace of God, and the gift by grace, which is by one man, Jesus Christ, hath abounded unto many. And not as it was by one that sinned, so is the gift: for the judgment was by one to condemnation, but the free gift is of many offences unto justification. For if by one man's offence death reigned by one; much more they which receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness shall reign in life by one, Jesus Christ.) Therefore as by the offence of one judgment came upon all men to condemnation; even so by the righteousness of one the free gift came upon all men unto justification of life.”

I really love this passage of Scripture. In our text passage we find the following phrases:
  1. free gift
  2. gift by grace
  3. the gift
  4. free gift
  5. gift of righteousness
  6. free gift
Amen! The word gift is mentioned six times in these four Bible verses. I love those two words: “free gift,” which is mentioned THREE TIMES! Could the Bible be any plainer that getting born-again is a “free gift”? I think not.

I was watching Roku today, which falsely claims to be “free.” It is not truly “free,” because they require YOU to watch 4 to 5 commercials every several minutes. That is NOT free, because something is required of YOU. if you want to watch movies on Roku, then you are required to watch their commercials. You cannot skip them. I turn my volume down and surf my mobile phone while waiting. I HATE their stupid commercials.

As a side note, Microsoft is now airing Spanish commercials only on Roku, with no English at all. I think that is very unethical, wrong and shameful, dishonoring the American people. Historically, English is the language of the land, not Spanish! It is bad enough that our ungodly government has allowed 50,000,000 illegal immigrants to flood illegally into our country since 1970, but now big companies are catering to them, so much so that they don't even broadcast commercials in English anymore! That is treason! When the Black Lives Matter mob was burning and terrorizing cities across America in 2020, dozens of ungodly stupid big U.S. corporations donated BILLIONS of dollars to their wicked cause, to defund the police. Unreal!

I digress. Back to the subject of this blog. I have noticed while listening to proponents of the “turn from your sins” heresy, Calvinism and Lordship Salvation, that they avoid using the Biblical word gift.” It is not difficult to understand why, because their errant mindset is to focus on what MAN must do to be saved, instead of focusing on what CHRIST has already done through Calvary's cross to pay for our sins.

YOU have no function in God's simple plan of salvation. Our part is only to simple BELIEVE. We must cease from our own works, and rest in the finished redemptive work of Jesus Christ. To be saved, you simply get out of the way and let Christ do the saving, all of it! You can be assured of this dear reader—that whatever changes God wants to see happen in your life, as His child, He will attend to that. God is not an absent parent (Hebrews 12:6-8).

The Holy Bible teaches clearly that eternal life is a “free gift.” Salvation is not a reward for the righteous, it is a gift for the guilty! Salvation is not doing your best, it is having Christ's best put to your account through receiving Him by faith. Turning away from sinful ways would be a work. Faith puts all of the merit where it belongs, on the object of our faith, Jesus and His work. If to “repent” means to forsake our sinful ways TO BE SAVED, but Jesus already paid for our sins by dying on the cross, then what are we repenting from?

The true Gospel always points you to CHRIST; a false gospel always points to YOU.

Years ago I saw a bank sign which offered a “gift,” for anyone who opened a new bank account. Is that really a “gift”? No, it couldn't be a gift, because something is required of you to obtain it. If you must turn away from sins to be saved, then eternal life cannot be a gift. In fact, it would be a REWARD instead. But salvation is not a reward for the righteous, it is a gift for the guilty! You and I are GUILTY sinners in the sight of our holy God (Romans 3:19-23).

The inspired King James Bible reads: Christ died for the ungodly (Romans 5:6b). That means you friend! That means me! We are all ungodly sinners, deserving of eternal punishment in Hell's fire and torment (Revelation 20:11-15; 21:8). God's precious gift of forgiveness of sins and eternal life is a “free gift.” You don't earn it. You don't forsake a lifestyle of sinning to qualify to receive it. You don't live a holy life to prove that you have received it. It is a “free gift.” God even added the word “free,” so that no one could falsely claim that a gift must be earned.

Therefore, Roku are liars! Movies are not free on Roku, you are paying for them with your time! Any good businessman will tell you: “Time is money!” Roku is requiring your time, to watch their commercials, for which you are being paid with watching their movies. A gift by every definition of the word means something given without obligation or compensation.

Most Preachers Don't Pay Attention To The Details

Acts 15:1 and 24, “And certain men which came down from Judaea taught the brethren, and said, Except ye be circumcised after the manner of Moses, ye cannot be saved. ...Forasmuch as we have heard, that certain which went out from us have troubled you with words, subverting your souls, saying, Ye must be circumcised, and keep the law: to whom we gave no such commandment:

One of the biggest problems, or sore evils, since the beginning of time is shallow preachers who don't pay attention to the details. I love our text passages from Acts chapter 15, verses 1 and 24. In this passage we first see that a group of false teachers had come down from Judea. The Bible says “down” because Judea is up in the mountains. These false teachers were no doubt sincere, Judaizers who were still stuck on the Old Testament law. They were caught between grace and works! This is a common evil that we still see today in religious circles everywhere, mainly in Bible colleges and churches.

God pays attention to details more than anyone. Matthew 10:29-30, “Are not two sparrows sold for a farthing? and one of them shall not fall on the ground without your Father.
But the very hairs of your head are all numbered.” Wow! God even keeps track of the number of hairs on our head. That is an amazing truth! It means that God pays attention to every little detail of our life, body and very being (existence). God notices the little things that most of us overlook.

I am also sometimes guilty of not paying attention to little things. When I go to any grocery store, I started a habit many years ago of grabbing one or two loose carts in the store parking lot, and I wheel them back into the store. It is a small thing that I do, but I do it for Jesus, both to let my let shine (Matthew 5:16), and to help me stay out of the self life” (Philippians 2:4-5). It is a good practice to get into the habit of doing little things like this for others, to learn the importance of little things. Pastor Jack Hyles used to wisely say: “The most important job is the one that doesn't get done!” I love that truth.

Sadly, most pastors today (or preachers) don't pay attention to the details, especially in doctrine. They pay attention to the details financially, to their utter shame, but they don't care about the importance of right doctrine! The false prophets in Acts 15:1 taught that you could not go to Heaven unless you keep the Mosaic law, which the Apostles said in verse 24 they never taught. The Apostle confirmed through their messengers that this was in fact, heresy being taught in Acts 15:1. It was another gospel!

I have made a lengthy list below of all the unbiblical embellishments I have heard, which are being added nowadays to corrupt the Gospel by foolish preachers:
  1. walk an aisle
  2. pray a prayer
  3. join a church, denomination or convention
  4. turn from your sins
  5. repent of your sins
  6. be willing to turn away from sin
  7. feel sorrow for your sins
  8. forsake a lifestyle of sinning
  9. be baptized in water
  10. speak in “tongues”
  11. turn over a new leaf
  12. ask Christ into your heart
  13. invite Jesus into your life
  14. surrender your entire personality to Christ
  15. surrender all
  16. live a holy life
  17. live a changed life
  18. give control of your life over to Christ
  19. faithfully run the race
  20. count the cost and pay the price
  21. live a lifestyle of repentance from sins
  22. turn away from the old life
  23. follow Jesus no matter what the cost
  24. make Jesus the “Lord” (Master) of your life
  25. be sorrow for your sin
  26. confess Christ publicly
  27. keep the Sabbath Day
  28. keep God's Ten Commandments
  29. get rid of bad habits and vices
  30. ask Jesus into your heart
  31. have a religious experience
  32. feel hatred for sin
NONE of these things are required to get to Heaven. Yet, I can hardly listen to a sermon, or visit a church website, or watch a YouTube video, or hear a Bible college chapel service, or read a religious tract, without seeing these unbiblical additions to God's simple plan of salvation, which is by faith alone in the Gospel (Good News) of Jesus Christ crucified, buried and risen the third day (1st Corinthians 15:1-6).

It saddens my heart to hear preachers obscuring, confusing and corrupting the Gospel with all sorts of embellishments. The Bible says in 2nd Corinthians 4:3-4, “But if our gospel be hid, it is hid to them that are lost: In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them. The Devil doesn't want lost sinners to get saved. Satan wants people to burn in the Lake of Fire with him. So the Devil blinds men's minds! How does he do this? Satan hinders people from getting saved by obscuring and hiding the Gospel of free grace.

For example: Pastor Osteen gets the Gospel horribly WRONG. I was listening to him preach the other night (if you can call his motivational speeches preaching). At the end of his sermon, Joel gave a counterfeit plan of salvation that made me cringe. Pastor Osteen requires four things to be saved that are totally unbiblical:
Joel says you must “receive Jesus as Lord” to be saved.
Joel says you must “repent of your sins” to be saved.
Joel says you must “pray” to be saved.
Joel says you must “follow Christ” to be saved.
I heard Joel Osteen on TV the other day require those four unbiblical things to be saved. Joel didn't even mention Jesus' death, burial or resurrection in his suggested sinner's prayer. Dear reader, you don't need to do any of those things which Joe Osteen sinfully requires. The Bible Gospel of free grace taught in 1st Corinthians 15:1-4 doesn't include those things!

You can simply BELIEVE on the Lord Jesus Christ to be saved (Acts 16:30-31). You don't have to pray. Nor do you have to “ask” to be saved. God is already offering you eternal life as a gift, if you will simply BELIEVE. John 6:47, “Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me hath everlasting life.”

Dear friend, the tiny details truly do matter! May we all start paying careful attention to the details of that which matters most in our life. Most people pay careful attention to the charges on their credit card, while never giving a second thought to the doctrine being spoon-fed to them by the preachers they listen to. Think about the foolishness of that! Right doctrine matters. It truly bothers me that nearly everyone is okay with one or more of the embellishments that I listed earlier.

How about you my friend? What do you think a person needs to do to be saved, so you can go to Heaven? If the answer is to simply place one's childlike trust (confidence) as an admitted guilty sinner in the Good News of Jesus Christ crucified for our sins, buried and risen the third day, then you are correct and saved. But if you add anything else to your faith, then it immediately becomes works. Hebrews 11:6, “And if by grace, then is it no more of works: otherwise grace is no more grace. But if it be of works, then is it no more grace: otherwise work is no more work.”

It is sad that I sometimes hear preachers (e.g. Peter S. Ruckman, William P. Grady and Robert Breaker) falsely teaching that people were saved by works in the Old Testament, under the Mosaic law. What saith the Scripture? Romans 4:4, “Now to him that worketh is the reward not reckoned of grace, but of debt.” If at any time in history, salvation were ever by works, then God owed those people eternal life. As we just read, God does not owe anybody forgiveness of sins. No one under the Mosaic law could perfectly keep the law, which is why the blood of a sacrificed lamb needed sprinkled each year by the high priest, on the mercy seat in the presence of God. These were ceremonial rituals done as shadows of the real things to come in Heaven (Hebrews 10:1), by our eternal High Priest (Hebrews 4:14-16).

Details are important friend. The Bible plainly proclaims God's easy, simple and free plan of salvation by faith alone in Jesus Christ. It is not okay to embellish, add, change or subtract anything from the simplicity that is in Christ, which is THE GOSPEL. So when we hear na├»ve or corrupt preachers teaching things they ought not for filthy lucre's sake (Romans 16:17-18), we should SPEAK UP for God and leave that place.

I recently learned about a popular evangelistic play, which became a video, titled: Heaven's Gates And Hell's Flames. Tragically, the video is packed full of damnable heresy, numerous embellishments to the Gospel. I wrote this blog to refute the presentation. I am sick and tired of visiting indifferent Bible colleges and churches, who just merely go along with whatever is being preached, giving false teachers the benefit of the doubt that they are really saved and mean well, they just use different wording (semantics). Folks, that is NOT okay to do!!!

Telling someone to turn away from your sins to be saved is damnable false doctrine! A lot of preachers are using that unbiblical phrase today, but they don't explain to their audience what they mean by turn from sin.” It is one of the Devil's favorite deceptions today, because it obscures the light of the truth of the Gospel. Does a person have to stop, try to stop or be willing to stop sinning to be saved? No, absolutely not! That may offend you, but it is 100% Biblical.

The honest truth is that NO ONE has ever stopped sinning! Even the best saints still struggle daily with sin (Romans 7:14-25). To tell someone that to be saved they should desire not to sin anymore is also a false plan of salvation, because all that God requires to receive His free gift of eternal life is that you admit you are a guilty sinner. You need to know what you're being saved from. You need to see your need for redemption, so you'll BELIEVE the Gospel to be saved (Galatians 3:24-26). We are a SINNER and Jesus is the only SAVIOR! It is that simple.

Did Dr. Curtis Hutson Preach A Different Gospel Than Dr. John R. Rice?

Regarding repentance and Dr. John R. Rice (1895-1980), it is unfortunate that Dr. Rice used the phrase "turn from sin with all your heart," in his writings, because the Bible doesn't use those terms concerning salvation. In his book: "I Am A Fundamentalist Not A Nut," Dr. Rice defends Brooke Westcott and Fenton Hort, the two biggest heretics of the 19th century, and fathers of all modern corrupt Bible versions. In fairness to Dr. Rice, he didn't have the incredible library of wealth on the internet as we do today. So to answer the question: Did Dr. Curtis Hutson Preach A Different Gospel Than Dr. John R. Rice? The answers is: Yes and No!

Humbly said, Dr. Rice was wrong about Westcott and Hort not being part of a Satanic conspiracy to corrupt the Holy Bible. They sure were, whether they realized it or not! Both men were unsaved Anglican ministers and supportive of Roman Catholicism. Both men denied numerous fundamental doctrines of the Christian faith; such as, Christ's virgin birth, a literal Heaven and Hell, denied Jesus' deity, denied the doctrine of atonement, and the inerrancy of the Scriptures. Pastor Max Younce exposes Westcott and Hort here.

So Dr. Rice wasn't always correct! We must not cite him as an authority on repentance!

Although I disagree with Dr. Rice's use of the phrase "turn from sin," because the Bible never teaches that, I am convinced that Brother Rice was saved and correct on the Gospel itself, as evidenced by the following helpful quote:
"There are those hyper-dispensationalists who think that John the Baptist preached a different Gospel from Christ when he commanded repentance (Matt. A change of mind toward sin is necessarily involved in saving faith. ...Everyone who genuinely repented under the preaching of John the Baptist put his trust in the Saviour John the Baptist preached, and was regenerated. There is no such thing as being “a disciple of John the Baptist” in any honest sense without being a disciple of Jesus, that is, without trusting Christ for salvation." ~Evangelist John R. Rice, “Acts: Filled With The Spirit,” pp. 251-252; Sword Of The Lord, Murfreesboro, Tennessee; ©1963
As Dr. Rice just plainly said: "One who turns from sin to God has done so by trusting in Jesus Christ." So Dr. Rice DIDN'T require people to turn from sin to be saved, he simply believed that when you BELIEVE ON THE LORD JESUS CHRIST you have turned from sin. Dr. Rice makes is clear that "TRUSTING IN JESUS CHRIST" is all that is required to be saved. And of course, to trust Christ MUST includes the admission that one is a guilty sinner, because we need to know what we are being saved from (Romans 3:19-20; Galatians 3:24-26). Trusting Christ MUST also include acknowledgement of three facts of the Gospel (1 Corinthians 15:1-4):
1. Christ DIED on the cross for our sins.
2. Christ was BURIED.
3. Christ bodily RESURRECTED from the dead three days later.
Nothing more is required or permitted by God. Anyone who requires a person to turn away from living a lifestyle of sin is WRONG. The very idea is silly, because NO ONE has ever turned away from sinning. Even the best saints still SIN (Romans 7:14-25). The Southern Baptist Convention (SBC) today has 45,000 member churches. Every SBC church that I have attended teaches that you must give up your sinful ways to get to Heaven, which is a false gospel. They all preach the Devil's lie of Lordship Salvation, requiring that you surrender control of your life over to Christ, to follow and live for Him from now on. None of that is the Gospel. I love what Pastor Harry A Ironside said:
“The Gospel is not a call to repentance, or to amendment of our ways, to make restitution for past sins, or to promise to do better in the future. These things are proper in their place, but they do not constitute the Gospel; for the Gospel is not good advice to be obeyed, it is good news to be believed. Do not make the mistake then of thinking that the Gospel is a call to duty or a call to reformation, a call to better your condition, to behave yourself in a more perfect way than you have been doing in the past …Nor is the Gospel a demand that you give up the world, that you give up your sins, that you break off bad habits, and try to cultivate good ones. You may do all these things, and yet never believe the Gospel and consequently never be saved at all.” ~Pastor Harry A. Ironside, “What Is The Gospel?”
Missionary to India for over 30 years, Evangelist David C. Cloud, is a good man as far as good men go. But he is a bitter enemy against Pastor Jack Hyles, for which I do not respect him. David Cloud has horribly dubbed Dr. Hyles: "The King Of Shallow Soulwinning!" On the Day of Pentecost, the Bible says the Apostle Peter preached the Gospel and 3,000 people got saved. No one was interrogated. No one had to be watched to see if their life changed. No one was required to forsake their sinful lifestyle. They simply "gladly received his Word" (Acts 2:41). That is, they heard the Gospel and they BELIEVED it! (Galatians 3:2). Now, David Cloud can call that type of soulwinning "shallow," but it is the Bible way and the only way to be saved! I have read Mr. Cloud's plan of damnation, and it is not the free grace Gospel.

It was David Cloud who started saying garbage that Pastor Curtis Hutson and Dr. John R. Rice didn't agree on salvation. They both believed the same Gospel!!! They just presented it differently. The only difference is that Dr. Hutson refused to use the words: "turn from sin" as Dr. Rice did. But from the quote I just shared with you, Brother Rice made it very clear that he believed: "One who turns from sin to God has done so by trusting in Jesus Christ." That is the opposite of what we are hearing preached in 90% of Bible colleges and churches today! Look at this Satanic tommyrot preached at Bob Jones University nowadays by Dr. Steve Pettit.

It is my humble opinion that Dr. John R. Rice hindered many people from getting saved, by his use of the unbiblical phrase “turn from your sin.” Likewise, I believe that cartoon artist Jack Chick was saved, but he also sinfully embellished the simple Gospel, requiring people to “turn away from sin (repent)” in all 800,000,000 of his Chick Tracts on the back page, step number 2 in his perverse plan of damnation. I believe Jack was saved because I have read his website about Jesus' imputed righteousness, in which he never mentions the word repent even once. I think Jack Chick knew he was in error, and struggling with the issue, trying to remedy the matter by writing a correct Gospel elsewhere. Likely, in his thinking, he couldn't change his plan of salvation 800,000,000 tracts later without looking like a fool, and angering many churches. But friend, we are not supposed to present our OWN plan of salvation. We are commanded to share GOD'S plan of salvation, which doesn't include turning from your sinning. Romans 5:6b plainly says, “CHRIST DIED FOR THE UNGODLY!!!

I think a lot of people did get saved from Chick Tracts, who had heard the Gospel preached elsewhere, but Jack's cartoon evangelism impressed upon them to receive Christ. However, I have personally received emails from people, who testified to me that they almost went to Hell because of Jack Chick. One man told me that for several years he wouldn't come to Christ, because he had read in a Chick Tract that God required him to forsake his sinful lifestyle to be saved, and he wasn't ready to do that. Jack Chick has much blood on his hands, for adding an unnecessary requirement to God's simple plan of salvation, which is by faith alone in the Good News (Gospel) of the Lord Jesus Christ (1st Corinthians 15:1-4).

What Steve Pettit, David Cloud and Jack Chick preach is NOT the Gospel, not even close! I humbly think Pilgrim's Progress author, John Bunyan, said it best:
“If you do not put a difference between justification wrought by the man Christ without and sanctification wrought by the Spirit of Christ within, you are not able to divide the Word aright; but contrariwise, you corrupt the Word of God, and cast stumbling blocks before the people.” —John Bunyan (1628-1688)
Neither repentance or getting saved (which are the same event) result in a changed life. Getting saved doesn't change a person one bit, except that now God's Holy Spirit lives inside of that new believer. Once saved, all things are become new (2nd Corinthians 5:17), because now our spiritual eyes are opened (1 Corinthians 2:14-16). A believer must desire the sincere milk of the Word of God to grow (1 Peter 2:2). The Word of God sanctifies us, because it is THE TRUTH (John 17:17). God wants every believer to make a second decision, to yield our self as a living sacrifice to serve Christ as our "Lord" (Romans 12:1-2). I think Pastor M.R. DeHaan (1891-1965) said it very well:
"There is a vast difference between coming to Jesus for salvation and coming after Jesus for service. Coming to Christ makes one a believer, while coming after Christ makes one a disciple. All believers are not disciples. To become a believer one accepts the invitation of the Gospel, to be a disciple one obeys the challenge to a life of dedicated service and separation. Salvation comes through the sacrifice of Christ; discipleship comes only by sacrifice of self and surrender to His call for devoted service. Salvation is free, but discipleship involves paying the price of a separated walk. Salvation can't be lost because it depends upon God's faithfulness, but discipleship can be lost because it depends upon our faithfulness." ~Pastor M.R. DeHaan, "Hebrews"; Zondervan Publishing House, 1959 (p. 117)
In summary, I do not think David Cloud is saved. He denies that faith alone can save a man. Mr. Cloud teaches that you must be willing to stop living in sin to be saved, which is the same as requiring someone to keep the Mosaic law, which cannot justify a man (Romans 3:29-20). Only faith justifies a man (Galatians 3:26). I think Dr. Curtis Hutson gets repentance and the Gospel 100% correct. I think Dr. John R. Rice got the Gospel correct, but poorly chose his wording, which unfortunately has caused much confusion in the churches who respect his theology. John R. Rice was wrong to tell people to turn from sin to be saved.

I would expose him as a heretic if it weren't for the fact that he explains exactly what he means, which I shared with you earlier: "One who turns from sin to God has done so by trusting in Jesus Christ." All that Dr. Rice believed a person needs to do to be saved is to TRUST IN JESUS CHRIST!!! I agree. That is Biblical (John 6:47).

The word “repent” as it relates to salvation always means “a change of mind.” This is the Greek noun form, metanoia. The Greek verb form (e.g., Mark 1:15) of the word is metanoeo, which means “to think differently.” The Bible doesn't tell us what to think differently about. God intentionally chose to use this open-ended, all-inclusive word. In other words, you must repent of whatever it is that is hindering you from doing the ONLY thing you can do to be saved, put your FAITH in Jesus Christ. Galatians 3:26, “For ye are all the children of God by faith in Christ Jesus.”

Not one verse in the Bible teaches to “turn from sin” to be saved! Proponents of the “turn from your sins” heresy always run to every verse in the Bible which says to “repent,” taking the verses out of proper context, ASS-U-ming that the word repent means to “turn from sin.” Dear friend, since the ONLY thing that can keep a person out of Heaven is UNBELIEF, then the only sin that you need to literally repent of is UNBELIEF.

The man, woman or child who BELIEVES on Jesus Christ, no matter how ungodly or unwilling to depart from their sins they may be, will be instantly forgiven and pardoned upon the basis of Christ's sacrifice on the cross. Repentance is solely a matter of acknowledging THE TRUTH that you are a guilty sinner (John 3:21; 2nd Timothy 2:25), and turning TOWARD GOD (Acts 20:21) to be saved by faith alone in His only begotten Son (John 3:16). Whatever changes God wants to see happen in that person's life, you can be assured that God is not an absent parent, and He will attend to that matter (Hebrews 12:6-8).

The Gospel of John is God's Gospel tract according to John 20:31, "But these are written, that ye might believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God; and that believing ye might have life through his name." In John we find the word "believe" mentioned 88 times, but there is NO MENTION of the words: "surrender" or "repent" or "follow" or "confess" or "run the race" or anything else to get to Heaven. Jesus said in John 6:28-29 that the only "work of God" to be saved is to "BELIEVE ON HIM."

Salvation is not a reward for the righteous; it is a gift for the guilty!

Kindest regards and thank you for reading.

What Exactly Is: "Lordship Salvation?"

Acts 16:30-31, “And brought them out, and said, Sirs, what must I do to be saved? And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house.”

The following helpful truth is quoted from the retired preacherman website:
God’s Word clearly states that salvation is by Grace alone, through faith alone, in Christ alone.

Ephesians 2:8-9: [8] For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: [9] Not of works, lest any man should boast.

Lordship “salvation” (LS) is the unsupportable and unbiblical belief that the PERFORMANCE of good works, the PROMISE of good works, or the EVIDENCE of good works MUST accompany faith in Christ in order to establish, or provide evidence, that such faith has resulted in eternal life.

LS can be overt (one must forsake all of his sins and follow Christ in obedience and discipleship in order to receive eternal life) or VERY SUBTLE (one’s behavior will change once he has received eternal life, one must desire to get better in order to receive eternal life, one must want to have a relationship with Jesus in order to receive eternal life, or one must go beyond mere intellectual assent (head faith vs. heart faith) in order to receive eternal life.

Nowhere in the Bible does it say that any of these man-made conditions are necessary for one to receive eternal life. And yet, such things are taught by many churches, ministries, and pastors throughout professing Christendom.

We expose the people who promote LS, because they:
• Keep people lost (Luke 8-12; 2 Corinthians 4:4);

• Are accursed (Galatians 1:9);

• Frustrate grace (Galatians 2:21);

• Bewitch believers, rendering the believers ineffective in their Christian lives (Galatians 5:4); and

• Are to be marked and avoided (Romans 16:17 and 16:18)

In addition to the above, LS causes people to focus on themselves, rather than on Christ, for assurance of salvation.

We cannot know whether or not someone influenced by LS is saved. In some cases, they may have never even heard the Gospel presented clearly, and may have never believed in Jesus as their Savior. In other cases, they may have believed in Jesus as their Savior, but have received bad teaching that causes them ongoing confusion. We cannot tell which is which. But, in any case, they need our prayers and they need a clear presentation of the gospel.

One wonders why so many thousands of seeking souls flock to the false message of LS. Could it be a cultic draw by charismatic personalities who manipulate scripture, relish the attention, fame and (incidentally) the dollars cleverly conned from their followers?

Or, could it be that they walk into the nearest church, and they are sold a false LS gospel? After all, people naturally want to trust authority figures. In either case, the person who is fed false LS teaching is being steered away from the truth.

Although this list is by no means complete, following are some of the terms that are associated with Lordship salvation as being requirements for receiving eternal life:
“Repent of your sins”
“Turn from your sins”
“Be willing to turn from your sins”
“Put Christ on the throne of your life”
“Give your life to Christ”
“Commit to follow Christ”
Some proponents of Lordship salvation will allow that salvation is by Grace alone, through faith alone, in Christ alone, but then will insist that a saved person will show signs of being saved, such as sinning less and doing good works. If these “signs” are not present, they will insist, or at least heavily suspect, that a person has never believed in Christ as Savior.

This thought process can never lead to assurance of salvation, because it is always dependent on how one thinks he is DOING at any given point in time (we put DOING in all caps, because it is a work). Other folks think that God knows whether or not they are TRYING (we put TRYING in all caps, because it is a work). Trying will not help you attain eternal life. Eternal life is a free gift, received when someone trusts in Christ alone for it.

The Danger Of Embellishing The Gospel

1st Corinthians 15:1-4, “Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain. For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:”

I am tired of hearing preacher after preacher embellish the Gospel, so that people cannot see the clear light of the truth of the Gospel. The Bible tells us in 2nd Corinthians 4:3-4, “
But if our gospel be hid, it is hid to them that are lost: In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them. The Devil's greatest weapon is to con people into living the Christian life without ever being born again. Hundreds of millions of religious people all across the world are living the Christian life. They attend churches. They sing hymns and religious music. They tithe. They love each other and serve in their church and community. They give money to missions and to help the needy. They can talk about religion for hours and hours. They are good people by all human standards of decency.

But they have never been born again, which happens only by faith alone in the Good News of Jesus Christ crucified, buried and risen the third day. God the Father sent His only begotten Son, Jesus, into the world to be despised, rejected, beaten beyond human recognition, and then brutally crucified as a common criminal. 2nd Corinthians 5:21, “For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him. Jesus paid a debt that He did not owe, because we owed a debt that we could not pay.

I fully agree with Pastor Curtis Hutson (1934-1995), who said:
“But we've so muddied the Gospel, that when men want to make a decision to trust Christ, we've made it so complicated that they can't make a simple decision to 'Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved.' We'll say, 'If you don't do this' or 'You don't do that' or 'You haven't done that,' you're not saved'; but the truth of the matter is that when asked in the Bible, 'Sirs, what must I do to be saved?,' one clear simple answer was given to him — 'Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved.'” — Pastor Curtis Hutson, “Things That Are Different Are Not The Same” (preached at Southwide Baptist Fellowship on October 3, 1994)
I know a local Baptist pastor who always teaches people to have a “relationship” with Jesus. Although every child of God does have an adopted child/father relationship with God, it is also true that Judas had a “relationship” with Jesus, as one of His very apostles, and yet Judas still went to Hell to burn in fire forever. So we ought not use such unbiblical terminology. You will not find the word “relationship anywhere in the King James Bible. We not just use the term that Jesus used, which is to BELIEVE. John 6:47, “Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me hath everlasting life.

Anyone who requires more than faith alone to get to Heaven is a liar! YouTube is filled with wannabe preachers, who are woefully ignorant of the Word of God. Sadly, they have tens of thousands of followers, a hundred times or more what the average church has in average Sunday attendance. Renee Roland is one them, a false teacher on YouTube. Renee has another spirit, preaching the Gospel while denying that an eternal Hell exists. That is another spirit, which the Apostle Paul warned us about in 2nd Corinthians 11:3-4. We should completely avoid anyone who denies the reality of a burning Lake of Fire (Revelation 14:11; 20:11-15; 21:8).

Dear reader, let's keep the Gospel message simple, so everybody can get saved who want to.
“There is power in this Gospel message. Most people just don't know how to present it... The clarity of the Gospel is what makes it easy for them to believe.” —Pastor Yankee Arnold, a quote from the excellent MP3 sermon titled, “WHY GRACE CAN SAVE THE WORST MAN!

Don't Muddy The Gospel

I found this excellent blog article today, by Army chaplain David Rutkin, which I wanted to share with my blog visitors as well. I thank God for fellow truth-tellers like David Rutkin, who get the Gospel 100% correct:
Don't muddy the Gospel.  Explain it simply so it can be understood by the hearer.
The Gospel of Jesus Christ is the most significant element of the Christian faith.

Needless to say, the Gospel should be preached at church and I firmly believe at every occasion.

The Apostle Paul separated himself from others according to the clear Gospel message of Christ (Rom. 1:1). The Gospel is where he divided himself from another.

The clear Gospel message should be the foundation of where a church stands. If one does not get the Gospel saving message correct (Rom. 1:16), then they are likely to err in other understandings of Scripture.

The Gospel of Jesus Christ is His sinless shed blood, death, burial, and resurrection as the full substitute payment which saves a sinner from eternal damnation when believed by faith.

If the Gospel is tampered with at all and not explained vividly, it can lose its saving effect.  Notice the verses below.

“For Christ sent me not to baptize, but to preach the gospel: not with wisdom of words, lest the cross of Christ should be made of none effect.” - 1 Corinthians 1:17

“But I fear, lest by any means, as the serpent beguiled Eve through his subtilty, so your minds should be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ.” - 2 Corinthians 11:3

“Christ is become of no effect unto you, whosoever of you are justified by the law; ye are fallen from grace.” - Galatians 5:4

This is a harsh reality, and a real tragedy which is going on in many Christian churches today. Every Bible-believing church should give a clear presentation of the Gospel and invitation to accept Jesus Christ alone as Savior by personal faith.

I’m a stickler for a clear presentation of the Gospel.

Salvation is not a sinner promising to turn from sin, sorrow for sin, or giving their life/heart to Jesus so that He will save them. Salvation has nothing to do with our promises or gifts to Christ. Salvation is simply us accepting Jesus’ satisfactory payment on the cross of Calvary for the forgiveness of our sins. We simply trust in Jesus alone to save us (Acts 16:31, Rom. 4:5, 1 Cor. 15:1-4, Eph. 2:8-9).

Jesus gave His life for us (Gal. 1:4, 1 Tim. 2:6, Tit. 2:14); we don’t give anything to Christ for salvation.

“I do not frustrate the grace of God: for if righteousness come by the law, then Christ is dead in vain” (Gal. 2:21).

If we make salvation about us or something we promise to do for God, then salvation is no longer a gift, but we earned it (Rom. 4:16, 11:6). A sinner must understand they have nothing to offer Christ, but simply trust in Him alone to save them by accepting His substitutionary payment for their sins.

I do not believe I am splitting hairs because as seen from numerous Scripture above, the Apostle Paul was just as dogmatic.

Judas Repented - Matthew 27:3

The Simplicity Of God's Plan Of Salvation

2nd Corinthians 11:3-4, “But I fear, lest by any means, as the serpent beguiled Eve through his subtilty, so your minds should be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ. For if he that cometh preacheth another Jesus, whom we have not preached, or if ye receive another spirit, which ye have not received, or another gospel, which ye have not accepted, ye might well bear with him.”

Since the beginning of human civilization, the Devil has been trying to complicate God's simple plan of salvation for mankind. Part of our sinful human nature is pride and self-righteousness. 2nd Corinthians 4:3-4, “But if our gospel be hid, it is hid to them that are lost: In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them.” Satan wants everyone to spend eternity burning in the fires of Hell. All men are sinners (Romans 3:10-23). We have all broken God's Ten Commandments. The primary purpose of God's Old Testament law is to give humanity “THE KNOWLEDGE OF SIN” (Romans 3:20b). Consequently, we all deserve to be punished in Hell forever.

Most preachers today misunderstand the inspired Word of God. Men by nature have ego issues, full of stubborn pride and an unwillingness to admit when wrong doctrinally. I love the following passage of Scripture, which gives us some meat and potatoes doctrinally (i.e., foundational principles)...
Romans 3:19-27, “Now we know that what things soever the law saith, it saith to them who are under the law: that every mouth may be stopped, and all the world may become guilty before God. Therefore by the deeds of the law there shall no flesh be justified in his sight: for by the law is the knowledge of sin. But now the righteousness of God without the law is manifested, being witnessed by the law and the prophets; Even the righteousness of God which is by faith of Jesus Christ unto all and upon all them that believe: for there is no difference: For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God; Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus: Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God; To declare, I say, at this time his righteousness: that he might be just, and the justifier of him which believeth in Jesus. Where is boasting then? It is excluded. By what law? of works? Nay: but by the law of faith.”
Please don't miss what we just read in verses 21 and 22,But now the righteousness of God without the law is manifested, being witnessed by the law and the prophets; Even the righteousness of God which is by faith of Jesus Christ unto all and upon all them that believe: for there is no difference: Carefully notice that the Bible simply says to BELIEVE on Jesus Christ to be saved. There is no mention of repenting of sin or turning away from your sins to be saved. That is keeping the law! Telling someone to turn away from their sin to get to Heaven is the same as putting them under the yoke of keeping the law to be saved. What do you think the law is? ...
THE TEN COMMANDMENTS (Exodus 20:1-17):
  1. You will not have other gods before me.
  2. You will not make idols.
  3. You will not take the name of the eternal God in vain.
  4. Remember the Sabbath day to keep it holy.
  5. Honor your father and your mother.
  6. You will not kill.
  7. You shall not commit adultery.
  8. You will not steal.
  9. You shall not speak false testimony against your neighbor.
  10. You will not covet.
Nine of those commandments are moral law, which apply to all people, for all time periods, and in all geographical areas. But the fourth commandment to keep The Sabbath was only for the Jews, who lived during the Old Testament time period, and who lived in the land of Palestine. According to Colossians 2:14-16 the ceremonial laws were nailed to the cross. God's law became fulfilled in the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ (Romans 10:3-4). So we are not expected by God to keep the Sabbath Day today in New Testament times. It was a ceremonial law, not a moral law. This is important to understand.

These knuckleheaded ignoramus preachers today who go around foolishly requiring people to turn away from sin to be saved, are in reality keeping lost sinners under the curse and weight of God's law, which is another gospel accursed by God (Romans 3:19-20; Galatians 1:6-9). Jesus came into the world to die for our sins, not demand that we make an effort to stop committing them or else God won't save us. The very idea is absurd. Who can turn away from their sins? No one! You may have forsaken 99% of the sins in your life, but you will still be just as dirty, guilty and wicked as the vilest sinner upon the face of the earth (James 2:10). If you comprehend this Bible truth, then you will quickly understand the total fallacy of “Lordship Salvation.” You don't get saved by “surrendering all” to live for Christ; but rather, you get saved by ceasing from your own labors and simply RESTING in the finished redemptive work of Christ (Hebrews 4:10-11). JESUS PAID IT ALL!!!

Here is a wonderful excerpt from Michael P. Bowen's helpful book titled: “I NEVER KNEW YOU: The Horror Of The Great White Throne Judgement And How You Can Avoid It”:
Here is the gospel: God says that we are sinners and that no amount of good works or behavioral changes on our part could ever make us holy enough to enter heaven. God sent His Son to pay for all of our sins. Jesus paid for our crimes by dying on the cross for us all. His dead body was buried in a grave. On the third day, Jesus arose from the dead. The instant you believe this, He knows it and He saves you. “Verily, verily, I say unto you, he that believeth on Me hath everlasting life”(John 6:47). The free gift is based solely upon your trust in what Jesus did for you and has nothing at all to do with what you do for Him. “For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast” (Ephesians 2:8-9). ~Michael P. Bowen, “I Never Knew You,” p. xii
There you have it friend, how to know that you're going to Heaven in just 30 seconds!

“But we've so muddied the Gospel, that when men want to make a decision to trust Christ, we've made it so complicated that they can't make a simple decision to 'Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved.' We'll say, 'If you don't do this' or 'You don't do that' or 'You haven't done that,' you're not saved'; but the truth of the matter is that when asked in the Bible, 'Sirs, what must I do to be saved?,' one clear simple answer was given to him — 'Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved.'” —Pastor Curtis Hutson, “Things That Are Different Are Not The Same” (preached at Southwide Baptist Fellowship on October 3, 1994)
